My kids call me Tata. It’s the Croatian word for dad, and it’s the heart of everything this Foundation stands for.

I started Tata Foundation after going through separation myself. I know how hard it is to stay steady for your children when your whole world is shifting, and how lonely it can feel when you don’t know where to turn. I also noticed how little support was built with dads in mind. I didn’t want other parents to feel that way, so I set out to build the kind of help I wish had been there for me.

Today, Tata Foundation is an ACNC-registered charity with DGR status, based in Sydney. We offer community transport, parenting support and counselling through programs like Empowering Fathers, Tata Time, Dojo Dads and Healing Hearts. I also host The Parenting Puzzle Podcast, where parents talk openly about the parts of family life nobody prepares you for.

I truly believe the people best placed to help are often the ones who have walked the same road. When someone who has lived it says “I understand,” you can feel that they mean it. That’s where trust begins, and it’s why lived experience sits at the centre of everything we do.
